In 2012 Wendell Hill of Urbana scored his first hole-in-one, winning a 2012 GMC Terrain SLE.
This year, Austin Woodruff scored his first ace on the #3 par 3 at the Urbana Country Club on August 19. He wins $30,000 towards a new Chevrolet, Buick or GMC from Trenor Motors of Urbana. Woodruff was playing on the Johnson Welded Products team with teammates Mike Woodruff, Laren Robisson and TG Johnson. According to Roger Tehan, president of Trenor Motors, Inc., the auto dealership upped the ante for each golfer a number of years ago. Originally the business offered one car on one Par 3 each year. Now it offers $30,000 towards a car on all four Par 3’s, giving each golfer a unique four chances to win a car. The all day event makes room for two hundred golfers with twenty-five teams playing in the morning and twenty-five teams that tee-off in the afternoon. The A.M. flight winning team was PERRYproTECH.
