BBCO Hole in One
In 2015, Austin Woodruff (right) got a hole-in-one! He is pictured here with Roger Tehan, President of Trenor Motors, Inc.
For thirty-three years, CRSI has held a golf event known as the Bill Butler Champaign Open or BBCO in support of needs and wishes (for individuals served by the agency) that are not covered by other funding sources. In all that time, only two cars have been given away for the ever elusive hole-in-one and those were awarded just in the last three years. (There were three other aces in earlier years but at that time, cars were not offered as prizes.)

In 2012 Wendell Hill of Urbana scored his first hole-in-one, winning a 2012 GMC Terrain SLE.

This year, Austin Woodruff scored his first ace on the #3 par 3 at the Urbana Country  Club on August 19. He wins $30,000 towards a new Chevrolet, Buick or GMC from Trenor Motors of Urbana. Woodruff was playing on the Johnson Welded Products team with teammates Mike Woodruff, Laren Robisson and TG Johnson.

According to Roger Tehan, president of Trenor Motors, Inc., the auto dealership upped the ante for each golfer a number of years ago. Originally the business offered one car on one Par 3 each year. Now it offers $30,000 towards a car on all four Par 3’s, giving each golfer a unique four chances to win a car.

The all day event makes room for two hundred golfers with twenty-five teams playing in  the morning and twenty-five teams that tee-off in the afternoon.

The A.M. flight winning team was PERRYproTECH. Based out of Sidney the company has provided CRSI with information and technology support for many years. The P.M. flight winner was Bracken’s Pub,, a local business located in downtown Urbana.

Proximity Awards went to:

T.G. Johnson (P.M.)
