Than Johnson

Chief Executive Officer

After serving on the original incorporating board of Champaign Residential Services in 1976, Than Johnson assumed the position of Executive Director in 1983. Than is a graduate of Wilmington College and received his BA in 1970. He completed graduate level course work at Miami University from 1970-74.

Than prefaced his professional career in MR/DD, first as a public school teacher in New Miami School District. He subsequently moved into the position of Residential Administrator for Preble County Board of MR/DD and then to the Ohio Department of MR/DD as a Program Administrator. Than was also an instructor at Columbus State Community College.

He has served in numerous key positions in ANCOR (American Network of Community Options and Resources) and is currently serving in the office of president.

Equally notable is Than's rich history of service to his community. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of Clark State Community College, is President of the Champaign Family YMCA and past president of the Champaign/Urbana Chamber of Commerce.

Than and his wife, Kathy, live in Urbana. They are the parents of three sons and have three grandchildren.
