In the News Organization: Champaign Residential Services, Inc. RE: Building Purchase On behalf of Champaign Residential Services, Inc. (CRSI), Rick Anderson, chairman of the board of trustees, is announcing the purchase of the former K-mart/CT Farm Store Building and property at 1150 Scioto Street in Urbana. The thirty-nine thousand plus square foot building on nearly six acres was purchased from S.S.J. Investments Limited; a Florida limited partnership, in December. "Our business has grown tremendously over the past several years", says Than Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of CRSI. "Our corporate office functions have branched off to other locations making it difficult to operate efficiently. It is imperative to our operation that we bring those employees back under one roof. This purchase was an opportunity we could not let slip by us. It offers the ample square footage and parking that CRSI has outgrown at 1020 Scioto Street. However, I would like to make it clear that a final decision to renovate and move into the building has not yet been made. Other options are being explored but we felt we could not lose this particular alternative. We are committed to keeping our corporate offices and its employees in Champaign County," according to Johnson. CRSI is a provider of a wide range of services to individuals living with disabilities. Contracting with county boards of MR/DD and other community agencies; residential, vocational, behavior support, family coaching and mentoring, consumer advocacy and other services are provided. The agency currently employs over one thousand people in twenty-five Ohio counties and serves over seven hundred fifty individuals. CRSI is a not-for-profit corporation with state and federal funding sources that operates under a seventeen member board of trustees. Regional offices are located in Springfield, Troy, Lima, Defiance, Columbus and London with corporate offices maintained in Urbana.
