People First of Ohio held its annual conference March 19-21 at the Roberts’ Convention Centre in Wilmington. CRSI was well-represented as advocates and staff from Champaign and Madison Counties was among those attending.
The three-day event was packed with interesting and educational self-advocacy topics, as well as entertainment and fun.
Among the presenters was twenty- nine year old Bobby O’Gurek, a web designer from Summitt Hill, Pennsylvania who spoke about assistive technology, advocacy and his own struggles to advocate for himself and others.

There also was massage therapy, art, music, makeovers and a “People First Survivor Island Treasure Hunt”.
On Saturday evening, a dance was held continuing the Survivor Island theme and attendees were encouraged to wear survivor island beach attire.
