CRSI introduces two new board members

15ToddMichaelIn 2014, CRSI lost two dedicated board members to cancer. Rick Anderson served on the board for twentyseven years and Bill Denkewalter served for nine years before their passing.

To fill two pair of very large shoes, it is being announced that Todd Michael is replacing Anderson on the board of trustees and Richard Meyer is stepping in for Denkewalter.

Michael, a graduate of the Ohio State University with a BS in Agriculture, is founder of Michael Family Farms, a fourth generation family potato business that markets to retailers and food service distributors throughout the United States. He is also an owner of Michael Farms, Inc. and a network partner in Fresh Solutions Network operating out of the San Francisco Bay area.

Michael brings to the CRSI board a wealth of fiscal and practical experience serving on many boards of directors throughout the years. He has been on the National Potato Council for thirtythree years, serves on the Ohio Potato Growers Association, the Ohio Vegetable and Potato Growers Association as well as many others.

Locally, his strong community service includes serving on the Champaign Co. Preservation Alliance Board, being a member and past president of the Urbana Lions Club, serving as a United Methodist Church trustee, and being active in many other local and booster organizations.

Richard Meyer of Urbana graduated from Denison University with a BA Degree and from the University of Toledo with a JD Degree. He was admitted to the Bar of Ohio in 1974.15 Rich Meyer

Meyer is a law partner with Harris, Meyer, Heckman & Denkewalter; specializing in family law. Preceding that, he was a magistrate of the Court of Common Pleas for Champaign County Juvenile and Domestic Relations. He has also served as an assistant prosecutor for the Urbana Municipal Court.

In addition, Meyer serves locally on the Champaign County Bar Association, the Urbana Paramedic Board and the Home Options Board. He has also served on the Mental Health Board of Logan and Champaign Counties and the Logan/Champaign County Guidance Clinic.
