CRSI assumes land tenancy

London:  Oakwood Meadows, a twelve person ICF/IID facility in Madison County, has been approved by the Madison Co. Commissioners for a “tenant substitution”, Oakwood-MadisonCOcompleting the sale of the two structures located on the property to CRSI. The land, located on State Route 38, is owned by the county, necessitating the approval of the transaction.

In 1996, J.B. Associates became the property lease tenant and owned the structures. In turn, the group rented the structures to CRSI for the exclusive purpose of providing developmental disability services.

CRSI now owns the buildings and leases the land from the county. “With ownership, we have room in the capital ceiling to pursue reimbursable renovations where before, any necessary capital improvements were not recoverable. Ownership actually saves CRSI money”, says CEO Than Johnson.

Oakwood Meadows was the agency’s first venture outside of Champaign Co. Today, CRSI provides support services in thirty-five locations and employs seventy-three people in Madison Co.
