Urbana: Ben Famous, newly appointed regional representative and constituent services liaison for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (Dem-OH) was in Urbana on March 3, visiting with staff and consumers at Champaign Residential Services (CRSI). Famous stated that he was interested in familiarizing himself with the twenty-county region he is assigned to assist. “With (budget) cuts and funding (issues), I need to understand the need”, says Famous.

An across-the-table discussion on the various topics of state and federal funding was led by CEO Than Johnson to help Famous understand the funding requirements of people with developmental disabilities; as well as the consequences of budget cutbacks that can jeopardize services for, and the health and safety of extremely vulnerable Ohio citizens.

Famous toured the CRSI Adult Day Services program, two group homes and the ICF/MR Paul Loffing Rainbow Wing located at Vancrest of Urbana and operated by CRSI.
