RE: DSP Recognition-Auglaize County

Throughout CRSI, over 1100 Direct Support Professionals were honored during National DSP Recognition Week in September.

CRSI published ‘thank you’ advertisements to recognize the profession in many newspapers around Ohio where CRSI provides services.

The agency also provided a small token of thanks to all DSP’s and recognition was promoted regionally throughout the CRSI service area.

An example of regional celebration comes from Program Administrator Sue Ulis who is responsible for services in Auglaize, Mercer and Van Wert Counties.

“Some of the staff from the Auglaize Group Home gathered at the bowling alley for pizza and a game of bowling as a culmination to DSP week”, says Ulis. “Home Manager Mary Faler and Program Specialist Tanya Stauffer gave the staff daily items of recognition.

“On Monday the staff received mini fruit-scented bubbles with a label stating ‘our staff is fruity bubblicious’.

“On Tuesday they received M & M's in a little container with a label with instructions to ‘take one for stress’.

“Wednesday's item was an individual package of tissues with a label stating ‘our staff is nothing to sneeze at’.

“Thursday they were given little magnetic clips with the statement ‘our staff is the magnetic power holding it all together’.

“On Friday they were all invited to the bowling alley where they were presented with their tote bags, note pad, & pen from CRSI.   In addition,  Mary & Tanya had book marks printed with the DSP Code of Ethics on one side & the words, "We Value Your service" on the other side.  The tote bags & items were folded & tied with a ribbon. “
